Jim Starlin just post this to his facebook page, so I’m thinking it is the real deal. It’s a piece form an original illustrated novel that he’s currently working on. He’ll reveal more details as his plans are finalized, but for now I think one word will suffice: Want!

I’m really not all that impressed by this picture. It’s cool and all, but not $3.89 million cool. I do like most of photographer Cindy Sherman work; her photos always feature her, dressed up in story-telling mode. But is this one worth $3.89 million? Hmmmmm. That’s how much Untitled #96 sold for this week in an auction at Christie’s, beating 99 Cent II Diptychon by Andreas Gursky, which sold for $3.35 million before the recession in 2006. While beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I have to say I prefer a lot of Sherman’s other work to this one, which was shot sometime prior to 1981
